Examples of what can go wrong if you don’t “Fit First” before buying a new bike!
- You buy a top-of-the-line road or gravel bike and the one-piece bar-stem is the wrong size. It could be that the bar is too wide, or narrow. Or the stem is too short or long. To correct you need to spend up to $1000 for a new bar/stem. And spend at least $200 in labor to get the cables re-routed and the hydrophilic brakes bled.
- You followed the height-based size guide on the manufacturer’s website and bought an expensive road bike. But you have short legs and a long torso and not only is the cockpit too short, but the saddle height is too high, even when lowered to the max.

Greg is an awesome bike fitter! He has fit me on both road and TT bikes, the most recent being a Trek Speed Concept in which he dialed in my position to a T. I am so comfortable and fast on that bike that I can race a sprint triathlon, or do a 120 mile ride on it, without getting an achy back or shoulders. He is also a bottomless pit of knowledge on all things cycling!

Can’t say enough good things about Greg Pelican’s coaching and bike fitting. He’s an amazing athlete and has experience in the business, working with a variety of people and brands. He’s done two bike fittings for me, my older road bike and new tt bike. Both fittings really made my ride more efficient and comfortable. He’s also been coaching me for 9 months. I started a total newbie; having only a couple rides using clip in pedals on the bike before meeting him. He started coaching me through each discipline, focusing on safety and form. He collects and uses data to inform his training plans and adjustments to form. By working with him, I comfortably completed my first Half Ironman in May and had my first podium finish in a Sprint Tri last weekend. You’re the best GP!!

Not coming from a running background I always wondered if I had the proper run form and if there was anything I could do to improve it. I always admired Greg Pelican's thoughful and informative Facebook posts not to mention his achievements in multisport, running and cycling ...I thought he would be the perfect person to do my run analysis. He did not disappoint. Using Dartfish video analysis and Garmin Run Dynamic Testing, Greg put together a complete and precise analysis which showed the areas I'm good in and also what I could do to improve my form and make me run faster. So anyone who has a need for speed and would like to run faster and better give Greg Pelican a shout out...you won't be sorry!!!

I try and do a fit every year to ensure any changes to my body are accounted for. Greg has fit me on my road bike and tri bike. Each time he works through his process methodically and professionally. It was obvious from the first few minutes that Greg has a wealth of experience. Always cool and calm, he is great with people. I would highly recommend Greg for the new cyclist or experienced racer.
